Product information "WD-Prüfgerät Flume"
Water Resistance Tester for Watches (Wet Pressure Method)
Our Flume WD tester reliably tests watch cases using the proven wet pressure principle (overpressure with water), identifying not only whether but also where a case is leaking—a decisive advantage over dry-only testers. Up to two watches can be tested simultaneously.
Operating principle: The watch is secured above the water level while dry, and the cylinder is pressurized (up to 6 bar) using the hand lever. After a brief holding period, the watch is submerged and the pressure is released: If the case is leaking, the overpressure that entered during the holding period escapes as a continuous, visible stream of bubbles—allowing the crown, crystal gasket, or case back gasket to be directly identified as the leak source. Since the test is conducted under positive pressure, the risk of water ingress remains low.
Readability & Handling: The clear, transparent cylinder provides an unobstructed view of the test specimen and the source of the bubble stream; the easy-to-read pressure gauge on the base precisely displays the applied test pressure at all times. The device operates purely mechanically: no electronics, no calibration required, ready for immediate use at any time, and can be disassembled without tools for cleaning.
Your benefits at a glance:
Precise localization of the leak instead of a simple pass/fail result
Two tests in a single testing cycle—high throughput
Transparent cylinder + easy-to-read pressure gauge for reliable assessment
Robust construction, maintenance- and calibration-free
Testing under realistic wearing conditions
Excellent value for the price
Pressure is built up manually via the hand lever as standard. Optionally, the device can be connected to an air pump; this requires only a suitable connecting hose (no electrical cable).
